2 Layouts | What a Day..

You can say that this is a really productive day for me.. well, in a way.
I managed to clean up the warehouse where we kept all the dining and cook wares, now it will be more accessible and easier to find things in.

I also managed to make 2 layouts of my babies, Michael & Fae.
The first is about the photo that I took yesterday, a really hard to get photo, where Michael and Fae are smiling and looking at the camera, all in the same frame, I love it!!!
And the second one is about Fae starting to stand on her own! YAY! A milestones for her :-)

Here they are:

Layout | Bro & Sis
I created this using Studio Calico May 2013's Add-On Kit, Big Dipper.
I like all the pattern papers and decided to use all of them as layers behind my photo. Love the stars that indicate that my kids really are my stars and the bright yellow too. I challenge myself to use only the available embellishments in the kit. That way I can use up my stash, I think.
The vertical title, as an answer to Studio Calico - Weekly Challenge

Freckled Fawn clouds wood veneers that I love so much.. love the rain drops and little hearts too.

And more and more buttons.

Now the second layout, is of my daughter, Fae.
She's starting to stand on her own, and I think I like this quote to be put on her layout.

"What if I fall?
Oh, my darling, what if you fly..?"

I know it's a really pink one, I use the collection from Sarah Jane, Children at Play. I have bought this collection a really really long time ago, 2011 I think.. And just had the chance to use it.
See? I'm a real hoarder. But I try to limit my scrapbook supply shopping now..

Love this mounted stickers!!! And it matches the quotes too..

Here's a close up look of the photo, she's standing! And the girl with the flags is like shouting "YAY!! Way to go, Fae!" and I also added letter thickers on the side of the photo with red color which is a bit similar to the background so it won't stand out too much.

That's all for today. Thanks for looking and I hope you like what you see :-)

Layout | Jakarta - Pop Con Asia 2014

Made this layout for my husband to show my encouragement towards his pursuit in toy designing.

He has a blog, http://www.toykultur.com  - a blog he created from his hobby in toys, photography and blogging. Toy as in toys and kultur is culture in English.
In his blog, he writes about his toy reviews, toy photography and news on toy culture in Indonesia. He hopes that international people can acknowledge the growing and potential Indonesian toy designers through his blog.

He opened a booth at the POP CON Asia and collaborate with some abroad toy designers to put their exclusives on his booth. He wanted to introduced his own character too, Gacha. The name came from Godzilla and ocha, as a character design inspired by his favorite kaiju, Godzilla, and his habit in drinking tea / coffee.

I didn't have a lot of photos from the event, because honestly, we (my kids and I), didn't spend too much time at the convention.. because they are still too small and the place is really crowded with all the sounds and visitors, also there's no place for them to rest. So I took the kids for a walk and play at the mall or sometimes we just stayed at the apartment and rest.

This is the layout I made for him and also as my take on Studio Calico - Sunday Sketch

This it the detail photo when Mari E. Pangestu visited his booth.. so proud of him to be part of the creative industry.

The layout tittle.

Some details..

Added a little notes attached at the back of the photos.

Last but not least, it is actually a little message for my husband. I actually do not know how clear he is about his path in the to industry.. so I just assuming that he is still trying to find his way, what kind of approach, advertisement, types of products or merchandise of his character that he want to produce.. he might still looking here and there and asking around a.k.a wandering.. so I guess it will be the right quote to describe his situation now and also as an encouragement.

YAY HUBBY!! JIA YOU!!
We love you :-)

Layout | Love This Face

Made this layout for my little niece, Kate..
I really love her smile on this photo and just have to scrap it. Well, now you know that I am definitely a photo inspired scrapbooker. :)

Made this using Echo Park - Sweet Girl collection.
Just a simple layout for the sweet little Katherine Elaine Huang. xoxo

Late Post | Daydy with Me Layout

My husband and his friends started this hash-tag on their Instagram few months ago.. We all have almost the same age children & most of us spend time together a lot (those who are in Jakarta of course) and YUP! We all love to take photos of our children.
All the Dads came up with the idea of taking photos of the kiddos with their Daddies, but not showing the Daddy's face. So either, not shown at all or the Dad just look back or other direction.. and then, uploaded it to Instagram with the hash-tag #daydywithme.
It was really fun! Some of our other friends then start playing along too.. we're still thinking about the hash-tag name for mommy & the kids.

And this is a photo of Michael and his Daddy that I really like, taken when we all went to the beach with some friends last July. I know this might not fulfill the criteria for the tag, but I really want to use the title.

Using Dear Lizzy collection, and I forgot, I think the wavey paper is from Studio Calico. ;-p

You can see the Instagram #Daydywithme on this link.
And you are welcome to play along too..

Mom's Little Treasure is her Daughter

I've been wanting to make more layouts for my daughter.
It was so easy making Michael's, maybe because I have already been used to it.
Just like buying clothes, it's just sooo easy finding shirts, t-shirts, pants or any accessories for Michael, but with Fae..sometimes I got confused which one should I buy, will she look good in it, etc. Or on the bright side.. maybe I want to make sure that she get the best (not that I didn't do the same with Mike), maybe because she's a girl.. ahh you know what I'm talking about.

I came across this quote another day.. "A Mother's treasure is her daughter". I definitely want to scrap it. I also have a photo of Fae and me at the fishing pond the other day that I like very much. love the expression that she have there.
So I'm using this old Valentine collection from Crate Paper, Fourteen, that I have kept for quite a long time already. I don't have thickers that come along with the collection, so I'm using the glitter puffy letter stickers from Dear Lizzy instead.. so glad that they have coordinating color (this is in my opinion tho, haha..).

So this is what I came up with..
I applied a little bit of gesso on the background paper to make the color soft, layered some patterned papers and paper frames from the embellishment sheets on the photo. Attached the letter stickers on the side of the photo.. I didn't want to decorate too much besides the title quote because it is quite long already. For the last touch, i sprinkled some gold mist, but ended up adding a little spray of mist too.
Here it is..
Some details :

I can't wait till she's grown and we can chat and shop together.. on the other way around, I don't want her to grow too fast!! Oh my.. Mum's dilemma :)

I Love This | Give Me 5!

Hello!
I hope you all will have a happy Monday!

Today I want to share this layout I made for 2Peas class challenge. I really love these two photos of my son, they were taken when he was getting ready to go to Sunday School.
He looks so energetic and excited. I love it! And they layout that Corrie made for 213 in 2013 class caught my eyes, I think they are really colorful and simple, and of course will match these photos.

This is the layout that Corrie made :

It's really colorful isn't it?
She provided some prompts for the class challenge, which are;
1. K.I.S.S. (Keep it SUPER simple.)
2. Don't fret your mistakes.
3. Try something transparent.

I decided to do number one, instead of spreading some mist, I was splatting some colors..  And I guess I was a little bit too excited that I accidentally spilled some yellow mist on the card stock, I guess I tilted it too much. But then again, i looked at the prompts and decided to use number two as well.. I shouldn't fret about it, and instead of changing to new card stock (just like what I used to do in the past), I stick with this one and thought that this can make a cute accent on the layout, haha.. Besides, papers are expensive nowadays, especially with all the currency increase.

And this is my take for the class, using Studio Calico Cuppa scrapbook kit
I really LOVE this!
Oh yeah, after adding the journaling, I realized that it wasn't balanced with the empty space above the photos.. so, the "Give Me 5" doodles were added last, and I'm satisfied with the result.
And here's some close up look of the layout.

Thank you for looking :)
I hope you all enjoy your day!

8 on 8th

I was browsing through SC, 2Peas and some scrapbookers' blogs when I came across Corrie's blog.

She has a project to scrap more about herself.. she's been doing this since October last year. So, the idea is to write 8 things you are feeling or experiencing at one moment during the day (the 8th day of each month). Whether is good or bad, anything about you.

I figured that this could be a good idea, besides that I will be at least have to make one layout each month for this project, it's kinda fun to take self photo and yup, I agree with Corrie, that this can be a little bit therapeutic too.

I know that it's a little late, but I'd like to give it a try and might making this a regular thing.
This is my first attempt on "Me on the 8th"

1. Missing my son. I just gave birth to my 2nd child, a daughter named Fae (I told you about her on my previous blog), and since I got pregnant with her.. I hired a babysitter to help me take care of Michael. Well, the doctor and some family members said that I should not carry heavy stuff and telling you the truth, as the stomach was getting bigger, it made me harder to move and I got tired easily. So I couldn't play with him as much as before.. And now.. I have to take care of Fae and since I'm going to fully breastfeed her, I got more occupied. Well, I enjoy being a mother of two gorgeous babies, but I do miss him.

2. Trying to find time to scrap and Project Life. I haven't touch any of my scrap stash and Project Life since I got home from the hospital. I can't wait to scrap about my new born baby girl, my just becoming a big brother son, and all that has been documented into Project Life. And my baby girl 1st album too!

3. Doing a photo a day challenge  with some friends. My husband and our group of friends decided to make our IG feed more fun, by doing a photo a day challenge. We use the prompt from @fatmumslim and hash tag our photos with #CLphotoaday or #CLDec13. It's fun to see what everybody takes each day. And now.. I'm kinda 3 days left behind.. so I'm brainstorming ideas for them, haha..

4. Missing home. I went back to my parent's house after we got home from the hospital. My parents in law were away on a trip (we live in my in-law's house), so there were no one to help me at the time, so hubby and I decided to stay at my parent's house for a while. It was fun and there were lots of people.. I kinda miss the crowd there.

5. A bit lonely because I missed today's gathering with my girls. Well, according to Chinese tradition.. you have to stay at home for 40 days after labor, for recovery, to regain your health, stamina etc..so, here I am.. at home with my little boy & baby girl.

6. Hoping. I got my worries.. especially after giving birth to my second child, there will be a lot more things that I have to take care of. I'm worried if I cannot give a fair amount of attention to my children and husband. I hope I can tho..

7. A bit tired and sleepy.. because I have to wake several times at night to breastfeed. but I'm not complaining, I'm happy that I can fully breastfeed my daughter until now. I hope I can do it at least until she's 6 months old. Wish me luck.

8. Happy for all the things I have. My husband, my children, my families..

2 Pregnancy LO | a day before

We're planning to have my C-section on NOvember 22nd, wish me well! Thank you, haha..
So yesterday.. while cleaning up our bedroom, tidying up the craft room a bit, and packing things to take to the hospital.. I managed to take some time finishing 2 layouts I have in mind.

They were about two black and white photos I have during my pregnancy.. there's a another one, but I haven't got the time.. I'll see what I can do today :-p

This is the first, the photo was taken on November 5th by my husband, a photo of me with my son kissing my belly.. I really LOVE his expression here.. he looks so happy! I hope he will be much happier to see his future little sister.

Made this also for the 213 in 2013 challenge at 2Peas.

And this is my 2nd layout..
Took this photo of myself using my iPhone 4s when I was feeling a bit mellow.. I already talk about this on my previous post. And this is the scrapbook layout that came up from it.
I think the prompts of adding envelopes really represents how I fell.. I can't wait to see her, I can't wait to tell and share things with her.. and I don't think I want to write them in letters.. not that I'm lazy to write, but I think it won't be enough..

This is also an entry for Scrap Your Stash challenge at 2Peas.

I'm going to stay at the hospital starting tonight.. so I might not be writing for the next week I guess.
But I might still going to give some updates on my Instagram, please follow me if you like.

Thanks for looking & have a great day!

Layout | Night Time in Macau

Just got back from holiday and i got so many photos that I wanted to scrap. I hope lots of ideas and inspiration will come in a large portion.. hahaha. .

I really love this photo of us, taken in Macau. There’s hubby, Michael, me & the little bub. We first came her last year when i was still pregnant with Michael, so when we came back, I just thought that we should take one with him. And seeing the condition now, me being pregnant again, of our second child, do you think that we should be going back next year? hahaha..

Oh well, we’ll see about it as the time goes.

And now on to the LO. I really like this night time photo and this paper by Maggie Holmes. First time I saw it, I just knew that I wanted to make a night time photo LO with it, because of the bokeh effects that it has.

And as for the technique, I’d like to try doing some layering with paper, doilies and embellishment. I honestly was confused with the positioning and colors to use.. but I decided to use just anything pink, yellow and bright from the Maggie Holmes line for the Lo and I also gathered some ideas from everybody’s LO that are using the same paper as background. So thankful that there are many talented ladies that gave me a lot of inspiration.

So, this is it!

I was not really confident with the layout, but hubby said that it looks great..not a favorite because he’s more into minimalist, but he said that it brings out the photo and he likes it. fiuhh..so glad to hear that.
I’d like to make more LO and try different techniques, I hope I can find more time with my scrapbooking hobbies :-)

Thanks for looking! :-)
